Education and Work Experience

  Dr. Mingze Yao received his B. Sc. in School of Life Sciences, Shanxi University, China in 2008. He then went to Institute of Biotechnology, Shanxi University as a Ph.D. student where he obtained his Ph. D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2013. From 2014 to 2018, as an assistant professor and associate professor, he worked in the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, South China Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. Over the past five years,Dr. Yao devoted himself to the mechanisms of pluripotent maintenance and differentiation of embryonic stem cells and as first or co-author published 10 papers in the international journals including “Nature Communications”, “Cell Stem Cell”, “Nucleic Acids Research”, “Journal of Biological Chemistry” and “Scientific Reports”.

1. The epigenetic mechanisms of cell fate determination

2. Using stem cell to study and treat human disease
