All staff and graduate students of IBMS had a guided tour of Shanxi University’s history museum on May 11^th, 2018, as one of the series of activities to celebrate the 116^th birthday of the University. Also taking this opportunity, all staff and students have had a refreshed education on patriotism, which also reflects our enhancement in construction of the basic organization of Chinese Communist Party.

   Shanxi University’s history museum is located on the 5^th floor of “Liberal Arts building”, a major multi-functional building on campus. The whole museum occupies a 570 m² floor area, exhibiting all important documents, original or copied, of the texts and pictures recording the growth and expansion of Shanxi University, starting from May 1902 when the original institution of Shanxi University, Shanxi College then called, was officially established.

   Throughout the tour, the museum guiders recalled and explained some details of key events for the historical transformation during the past 116 years, presenting a vivid evolution of the University over such a long-time span as a well-known Chinese national high education institution. All visitors have been deeply impressed by the magnificent historical picture scroll of the University and felt proud to be a member of staff or student of Shanxi University. The museum displays hundreds of photographs of the University’s distinguished alumni, generation by generation, with descriptions of their achievements and stories to succeed, which inspire all Shanxi University people.

   It is of worth noting that the young IBMS shares its birthday with the University and this is witnessed by a photograph of IBMS, exhibiting quietly at the end of the hall and representing one of the University’s latest expansions. On this unique position, the documentary is telling all IBMS people: YOU ARE NOT ONLY THE INHERITOR, BUT ALSO THE HISTORY CREATOR OF THIS UNIVERSITY！

   At the end of the tour, all IBMS staff and graduates expressed to have been impressed greatly by the University history and made an oath to make every effort and contribution for the prospect of the University.
