On 20^th December 2018, the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Shanxi University (IBMS) signed an agreement with Shanxi Pharmaceutical Group Biological Gene Technology Co., Ltd. at IBMS on University campus. Mr. Bin Lu, the CEO of Shanxi Pharmaceutical Group Biological Gene Technology Co., Ltd., and Prof. Changxin Wu, the Dean of IBMS signed the agreement on behalf of the institutions respectively on the ceremony, attended and witnessed by key members of staff from both sides.

Shanxi Pharmaceutical Group Biological Gene Technology Co., Ltd. is a state-owned scientific and technological business that focuses on developing precision medicine technology and cell/gene-based biological products. One of the key and ongoing developments of the company is to build a national biomedical laboratory and research center with a function to be the only main biomedical sample bank in Shanxi Province.

As the newest established institute, IBMS has already achieved very well the first phase of development in infrastructure, including a series of biomedical molecular laboratories, biomedical cellular laboratories, a zebrafish model animal center and so on. The majority of IBMS scientists were graduated from leading universities in UK, German, USA and Canada and other countries oversees, whereas some of the young talents were graduated from top home universities in China. Multiple national and joint-industry research and development projects are ongoing at IBMS currently.

After the agreement-signing ceremony, the delegates from both sides had the first formal joint-meeting on collaboration business. They had discussion on the recent work and research projects of each side, and agreed on the main areas of joint force for both short-term and long-term runs. The two sides expressed highly trust to each other with confidence to achieve win-win prospects for future mutual cooperations.
