Institutes of Biomedical Sciences Shanxi University, which began preparations for construction in March 2015, has finished the laboratory infrastructure and established a complete experiment system that includes the Molecular Biology Laboratory, Laboratory of Cell Biology, Biosafety Laboratory（CL2）, Biosafety P2+ Laboratory（CL3）, Zebrafish Laboratory and Equipment Park ,with a total laboratory area of 2500m². The first phase of the construction of a procurement of experimental instruments and equipment costs 50 million RMB in all, including flow cytometry analyzer, laser flow cytometry sorter, cell metabolic analyzer (Seahorse), living cell workstation, Ultra high resolution living cell workstation, series of ultra and high speed centrifuge, series of research-grade multifunctional fluorescent microscope, digital quantitative PCR instrument and molecular interaction instrument. The follow-up will continue to arrange large amounts of funds to purchase advanced equipment to ensure that the scientists can carry out high-level exploratory research and the development of related biomedical products. Our institute has introduced 14 high-level researchers with overseas scientific research experience who come from Cambridge University, University of Dundee, The Roslin Institute, St Andrews University, Cologne university, the University of California, Case Western Reserve University, Nanyang Technology University in Singapore as well as other high level universities and research institutions. Whether in the hardware construction and personnel construction or other aspects have reached the expected goals. Therefore, we are able to undertake a high level of basic research and application development.

    The institute has four main teams that study respectively the research: based on human infectious disease and zoonosis pathology as well as its corresponding diagnosis and treatment products, the basic research of high incidence of tumor biology in Midwest and molecular targeted intervention, the research of genes of rare genetic disease in humans and the development of appropriate therapeutic applications, the research and application of embryonic stem cell technology. In order to ensure a cutting-edge and exploratory high-level research in biomedical field, our institute has established medical molecular biology research platform, medical cell biology research platform and zebrafish experimental platform. We also have collaborated with Shanxi Medical University, Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, Shanxi Center for Disease Control and Prevention as well as many other units to establish a good long-term cooperative relation, with a view to achieving "the combination of basic and applied, experimental and clinical integration" of the sustainable development goals. In addition, to directly link with the international frontiers, our institute has established long-term cooperation and exchange of visits with universities and research institutes in the United States, Britain, Germany, Singapore and other countries.

According to the requirements of five-year development plan and ten-year construction planning of Shanxi University and Biomedical Research Institute, our institute plans to recruit 30-35 outstanding scientists from home and abroad.

 

Recruitment requirements:

1. Has made good achievements in the field of biomedical research, presided over the Key Project of Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Natural Science Found for Outstanding Youth , presided over or as a national key R & D project backbone, the first author in the international high-level SCI magazine published research papers, more strong academic research potential;

2. Obtain Ph.D. in life sciences or medical related fields from prestigious universities or scientific research institutes at home and abroad. Priority will be given to those who have the research experience of well-known overseas universities or research institutes and obtain good research results.
