研究领域:

       吴长新教授主要从事感染与免疫和人类疾病遗传学基础研究,聚焦地域性重大疾病病理机制与新干预技术研究。回国前后主持和参与国家基金项目、国家973项目、国家支撑计划、国家重点科技计划、Wellcome Trust、英国生物技术理事会和欧盟第七框架重大项目等项目。有关感染与免疫方面的主要科学与学术成就在《科学》、《自然》和《美国科学院学报》等期刊发表。获得Wellcome Trust国际青年科学家发展奖荣誉和剑桥大学海外奖学金委员会终生荣誉会员。

       在英国剑桥大学学习和工作近二十年后,应山西大学邀请,在山西省海外高层次人才、 山西省高层次引进人才创新团队、和山西省“三晋英才”支持计划等人才支持计划资助下,辞去剑桥大学工作职位,担任剑桥大学访问科学家,2018年正式加盟山西大学,组建山西大学生物医学研究员,担任生物医学研究院院长和人类重要疾病病理机制与新干预技术团队首席科学家,此后兼任剑桥大学医学院和兽医学院终身访问研究员。目前担任并山西省特聘专家、山西省干细胞产业创新联盟理事长、山西省生物工程学会常务理事、中国防痨协会标准委员会常务委员和山西省战略科学家。
